A Tour of TL Yarn Crafts Headquarters

Long before I started TL Yarn Crafts, I longed for a creative space that was all my own. That smelled like relaxing lavender, where I didn't need to worry about the impact of coffee mug rings on the table, and I could spread my craft supplies on every surface I could see. I'd scroll through my Instagram feed and see photos of creative spaces that made me drool. It was time to make my own.

And it started with a bookshelf.

I bought a chintzy bookshelf from my local big box store when I realized my yarn stash was outgrowing the milk crates I was originally using. I told my Hub Bub "Don't worry! This isn't the start of something. It's just a hobby. No need to panic." Over time, 10 balls of yarn turned into 100, I temporarily blacked out in the notions section of my Local Yarn Store, and I knew I would just DIE if I didn't have every variation of a crochet hook that's ever been made. Thus, the Guest Room in our 2 bedroom apartment became the Guest Room -slash- Toni's Craft Room.

Most recently, I planted the seed in Hub Bub's ear that we no longer needed a queen sized bed in the Guest Room. I mean, what for, right? How about we downsize to a pull-out-couch, sell the bed, and take ourselves to dinner with the difference? Little did either of us know, that was the ultimate end of the Guest Room and the proper birth of TL Yarn Crafts Headquarters!

The most fun part of decorating my Headquarters was putting together my inspiration wall. I'd recently visited Wholly Craft in Clintonville, OH and picked up a print that said "Never Read the Comments". It inspired me to remember that what I do is for others, but will never be defined by others' negativity and general hater-ship. From there, I rifled through Pinterest for additional ideas for the wall, like my Pom Pom Wall Art.

Every TL Yarn Crafts project is born in this room. It's bursting at the seams with all of my supplies, but I'm happy to know that I have everything I need (for now...). I'm curious to know what your creative space looks like. How does your space inspire you? And what's your favorite tool or supply that you have to keep on hand? Tell me about it in the COMMENTS.
