4 Crochet Cowl Patterns for Beginners+

Sometimes it's so hard to find crochet patterns that are interesting without being complicated. When I first began crocheting, I wanted to do more than granny squares and long rectangular scarves. If you're in the same boat, look no further! I've rounded up four of my favorite TL Yarn Crafts scarf and cowl designs that combine simple stitches with slightly advanced techniques to create dreamy gifts that you'll probably want to keep. These patterns are perfect for the crochet beginner who is ready to learn new tricks.

First up is the Level 4 Lite, Snood. It's taller than most cowl patterns you'll find, making this the perfect accessory for someone who is ALWAYS cold (i.e. ME!). It's made from extra bulky yarn but is still light and airy.

The Holey Cowl is certainly a fan favorite. Combinations of Double crochet stitches and Chain 1 stitches create an open waffle pattern that lets just enough air in to keep you comfortable.

The Level 4 Infinity is the most luxurious of the group. It's a full length infinity scarf, measuring 60+ inches when complete. Wrap it around your next twice for an effortless look.

Last but not least is my all time favorite, the Bubble Wrap Cowl. Paired with the right yarn, the puff stitches that make up this cowl look beautiful and keep out Old Man Winter. In addition to the puff stitch, you'll also learn Foundation Single crochet, a handy technique to avoid the tight tension of chain stitches.

So, what do you say? Ready to try these patterns? Find them all in my Etsy shop now. And when you're done, tag me on Instagram and Facebook so I can see your beautiful work. And don't forget to join my mailing list to be the first to know about new patterns and get exclusive coupons to my shop.
