Let’s be honest: Learning is a whole lot easier when you’re actually doing whatever that new thing is. For me, YouTube is my personal favorite resource for crochet inspiration and learning techniques. But sometimes I’m looking to make a full project that’s a bit more complicated than your everyday infinity scarf. If you’re in the same boat as me, I’ve found the perfect platform for online learning. My darling, meet Skillshare!

Skillshare & The Bubble Wrap Slouch: A Match Made in Heaven

I was first approached by Skillshare to become a teacher late last month. I spent some time poking around the site and even took a few classes myself. I was immediately blown away by their amazingly simple learning process.

Here’s the deal:

  • They're quick - Most of their classes are a collection of 1-5 minute videos that break down full length projects into manageable parts.

  • Learn on your Lunch Break - Full classes are usually about 25 minutes, so you pick up new skills in no time

  • So Many Topics! - Class subjects range from technical (How to Make Apps with No Programming Experience) to delicious (The Perfect Grilled Cheese: A Mini Class) and everything in between

  • Focus on a Finished Project - Each class suggests a project that you can complete in parts then upload your progress for feedback and encouragement

  • Beginners Welcome - You don’t have to be a genius to learn on Skillshare. Most of the videos are aimed at the beginner and advanced beginner level learner, so you can jump right into any concept.

Sounds amazing, right? So I was surprised to see that their crochet selection was… lacking. Never Fear - TL YARN CRAFTS TO THE RESCUE!

"You don't have to be a genius to learn on Skillshare!"

I knew right away which class I wanted to share first: the ever-popular Bubble Wrap Slouch. Filming and editing were a breeze so I was really able to focus on the content. In the end, you have a complete tutorial from start-to-finish that’s easy to follow. I even offered up a few tips and tricks for creating a flawless beanie.
